1. Summary
This BIP seeks to set and subsequently announce a deadline for claiming the remaining BOTTO rewards from Botto's Liquidity Mining (LM) program that recently ended on Ethereum mainnet.
Specifically, it is proposed that a deadline of January 6, 2026, be set for claiming LM rewards, after which any unclaimed BOTTO would be returned to the DAO treasury wallet.
2. Rationale
Botto's LM program on Ethereum mainnet recently ended on October 15, 2025. To date, over 700K BOTTO remains unclaimed by LPs from the LM contract.
Considering Botto's LM program was extended by an additional year with the passage of BIP-42 in early 2024, LPs have had ample notice of its approaching end.
After Botto first launched in 2021, a deadline of January 6, 2022, was set for BOTTO airdrop claims. Following the deadline, about 13.6M BOTTO was ultimately returned to the DAO treasury wallet.
Accordingly, this proposal seeks to similarly follow Botto's airdrop claims approach with unclaimed LM rewards, whereby a deadline of January 6, 2026, would be set, after which any remaining BOTTO rewards in the LM contract would be returned to the DAO treasury wallet.
3. Proposal Specifications
Set a deadline of January 6, 2026, for LPs to claim BOTTO rewards from Botto's LM contract.
Communicate and issue reminders about the claims deadline broadly across Botto's various community and social media related channels.
After the deadline passes, any unclaimed BOTTO rewards would be returned to the DAO treasury wallet.
Note: how any unclaimed BOTTO may be used after it is returned to the treasury is beyond the scope of this proposal and can be deliberated by the DAO in future BIPs.
4. Criteria of Success
Establishing and conveying a clear deadline for claiming BOTTO rewards from the LM contract.
Replenishing the DAO treasury's BOTTO holdings from unclaimed BOTTO rewards after the deadline passes, which may then be used for other Botto related initiatives as determined by the DAO in the future.
5. Disadvantages/Risks
- Setting a deadline for claiming LM rewards may be perceived as an inconvenience by some LPs, though repeated communication about it will ensure that there is no oversight from those who are engaged.
